Spa Review: Fendi’s Skin Care and Body Massage Clinic

I believe the underlying philosophy of Fendi’s Spa is, “provide a high level of customisation for the client”.

I love love love going to the spa! It’s literally one of my favourite places to be. It’s that “me time” where I get to take care of myself and do all that self-love woo-woo stuff! More importantly, I love going to Fendi’s Skin Care and Body Massage Clinic! I’ve been fortunate to have been one of their very first clients when they opened the spa in 2012. Over the years, I’ve also witnessed a big transformation of the business from when it started in at a small location, to occupying now a multi-level commercial building. I will say as a male, going to the spa could be a really intimidating and daunting occasion – only because of the attitudes of men going to the spa is perceived as effeminate or less than what the ideal masculine behaviour is supposed to be “modelled” after. STEUPSSSS. Listen, seeking professional grooming and spa services has no real gender-bias. Both men and women love to look and feel their best and going to the spa isn’t such a big deal for a dude. Luckily, attitudes are changing, and men are becoming more open and disposed to aesthetic services. Hence, Fendi’s Spa is the spa that I trust and have developed a strong client relationship with.

Every spa is unique but what really stands out for Fendi’s Spa is that fact that it’s one of the more professional spas in East Trinidad. The spa is conveniently located on the J.Chai Hardware Compound on the Eastern Main Road in Arima. The next closest spa (if you live in the East) is probably a spa in Tunapuna or Valsayn. The location of the spa, no questions about it, is super ideal for me.

The second thing to note about the spa, and spas in general is that they tend to specialise in various different aesthetic services. For instance, one spa might focus on nails and feet; another in medical-grade topicals; and another in laser technology. As their business name suggests, Fendi’s Skin Care and Body Massage Clinic emphasises skin health and massage therapy for a slew of body and muscle conditions. I’ve done quite a few services from Fendi’s but my constant visits are primarily for Brazilian man-kini waxes. Additionally, I recently began buying my facial moisturizers from the spa as they carry a carefully selected portfolio of well-known skin care brands including Repechage, M.A.D and Vivant.

Although the spa has a higher portion of female clients than males; this shouldn’t stop guys from paying them a visit. Besides, on a wider scope it is normal for spas to have a higher female clientele than men, unless it is a spa specifically for men. Classic services that Fendi’s spa offers for men include facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, body scrubs/wraps and of course, massages (especially great if you’re a gym junkie and prone to sore muscles). What really stands out to me aside from the actual service is the customer service. Usually, a spa will have a cookie-cutter approach to their service so there is no distinction from, for instance, a pedicure for a person with great feet as opposed to someone who needs a little more attention in that department. I believe the underlying philosophy of Fendi’s Spa is, “provide a high level of customisation for the client”. This is to say that the spa will tailor the service to your needs and I’ve experienced this many times! It’s such a great feeling to know that as a consumer, you’re being taken care of and that the spa is working in your best interest.

As we speak, there’s some services that Fendi’s spa is currently training and testing to offer in the near future which are really exciting! I can’t say much about them but all I can say is they’re going to be a great addition to their menu of services, for both men and women! Interested in finding out more about their men’s services?
